Versilia, that stretch of Tuscan coastline stretching from Viareggio to Marina di Massa, immediately evokes the most disparate images, from the most familiar to the most luxurious and transgressive; from the "nobility", of blood and industry, to the local population of fishermen and marble quarrymen.
