Abstract

There is a place in the centre of Tuscany where the ‘Warmth’ of the land is the ‘Warmth’ of the people. Nature and history have forged this territory to the point of entering the culture and soul of the people. We are talking about two villages rich in history, Radicondoli and Belforte, both part of the Municipality of Radicondoli, between the Val d’Elsa and the Val di Cecina, in the Colline Metallifere, in the green heart of Tuscany. Here woods and nature extend as far as the eye can see. However, the history of this place has also been a history of departures. So even the countryside was left by the sharecroppers, forming the typical landscape of sharecropping, worked fields amid woodland.
