Per un nuovo classicismo
Bernard Tschumi Architects, Nuovo Museo dell’Acropoli, Atene
Abstract
Almost a theme of the double, if it were not so dangerous to compare any object with the Parthenon, seems to underlie the choice of Tschumi for the New Acropolis Museum. Or at least a specular dialogue. The altitude of the Acropolis, on which the temple of Athena stands, is counterbalanced by the expressive and almost ‘classicistic’ complex of the Swiss architect, how to call into question classicism in a context that would outshine any emulation comparison, any attempt to establish eye and abstract concept, any parallel.
