Abstract

Isolation and hyper-connection define the field of analysis to investigate the idea of refuge as a home. Our way of living has globally changed. The domestic space turned into a refuge, currently containing working, studying, and leisure areas, quickly adding times and functions. The design of The Roman Shelter, based on our own pandemic experience (our homes became our studios), results from an act of reduction and works on the primitive dimension of living: a toolkit made of basic elements evoking the domestic rituals essential to inhabit the space.
