Approaches and frameworks for a horizontal development model in Sicily inner areas

Abstract

In recent years, the Augmented City Lab of the UNIPA Department of Architecture has designed and experimented with models for local development through the nurturing of resilience and adaptation, mainly in non-metropolitan contexts. Starting from recent theorizations on Resilient Communities as an opportunity to overcome the Anthropocene, the contribution describes Alcamo and Favara as case studies, and the most recent trials in Sicani, as new reserves of resilience in western Sicily.
