Abstract
Anticipating possible developments and trends has always been a tremendous challenge for humanity: imagining the future is the necessary impetus to write a story that defines certain certainties by anticipating general outlines. It is an intrinsic human need to build a lot that is not just a surprise. When we speak of colours, this need is very current and heartfelt, even though it is rooted in the past, to such an extent that every year all companies dealing with the subject - from research institutes to manufacturers of pigments, inks, paints, fabrics and more - launch their 'colour of the year' at the end of research based on the analysis of various factors, historical, sociological, cultural, marketing and much more.
