Biocompatibility and ecosustainability

Abstract

As is well known, wooden architecture, like earthen architecture, belongs to a millenary tradition that has developed in all world cultures. Wood was the first building material used by humanity. The oldest artificial wooden constructions found date back to the Palaeolithic era. The primordial reason lies in the simplicity of its construction, first as mixed-use with earth in a structural manner and then as the ancients acquired manual dexterity, also thanks to its excellent availability.
