Changing and Borrowing
The future of recep- tion spaces for the elderly population
Abstract
The bewilderment that the pandemic has created in the articulated public/private social-health system linked to the elderly population has brought to the surface contrasts and misalignments of an obsolete care and residential model, already in the spotlight in the years preceding the tragic events of global resonance for the evident need for a structural change more responsive to the mutations of today's society. The questions that were posed and that are more forcefully re-proposed in these years of emergence from the pandemic are centred on the identity of these spaces linked to the service that offers continuity of life to older people both in physical terms - related to assistance and prosthetic activity - but also to social issues that refer to the affective and emotional sphere.
