ight, Color, and Surfaces through Four Iconic Cases in the Key of Experimentation and Innovation
Abstract
This article introduces the idea that the relationship between colour and surfaces requires considering the connection with light. This thought is demonstrated by analysing four examples of iconic architectural colour and surface use. Examined are the Casa Batlló patio by Gaudí, Barragán's Casa Gilardi, Muñoz Miranda's nursery school, and a solar installation by Brault. Each case highlights the need for harmony in exploring light, colour, and surfaces, whether in architecture or product design, emphasising the importance of a holistic approach so that there is innovation and design experimentation.
