Natural/artificial
Piergiorgio Semerano, Casa De Masi in Casarano
Abstract
A country house, lost in the Agro di Casarano (LE), undergoes a process of metamorphosis from an anonymous building without quality into a place where art and architecture meet. The new wooden skin redefines the volume of the old building, unifying it and redesigning the score of the façades. The cladding is continuous and homogeneous, with a visual screen and light filter, a mimetic threshold between house and garden, and a transient boundary between art and territory.
