For the Children

Abstract

The design of the Children’s center for psychiatric rehabilitation can be summed up in the words of its architect: it has a compact, versatile feel, due to the random nature of its composition, or rather its de-composition. Though the space is the result of a long, rigorous design process, the result appears completely coincidental. Laid out on a site that measures 14,000 sqm, the structure occupies barely 1,600. It is not a build- ing, but rather a series of buildings, a ‘scattered’ building with no one single center, but rather multiple centers.
