Abstract

We are perhaps still accustomed to identifying the specific discipline of architecture with the organisation of space. Yet this is increasingly the task of location economies rather than architects, who are understandably reluctant to swallow the bitter pill. However, few who accept the fact see a surprising increase in the degrees of freedom in their work, and Jean Nouvel's project for Kilometro Rosso seems to prove it.
