Abstract

The Sicilian landscape is characterised by an inextricable relationship between the urban constructions and the formation of the landscape. The nature of the land functions to determine and articulate the structures within habitable settlements, therefore the architecture is conditioned by the surrounding terrestrial context and hence dependent on it.
