Abstract

Many of Bangkok's buildings are generally constructed as concrete constructions, to which the owners subsequently add secondary layers on the existing facades to protect themselves from the sun and heat. In addition, they often use lightweight metal materials cut into panels and various pieces to create a general design. Two recent projects by Bangkok-based Architectkidd concern the renovation of two typical shophouses in the city, typical South East Asian buildings with commercial spaces on the ground floor and residential areas on the upper floors, often with an entrance on the street.
